Wilson Atumeyi is an anti-corruption activist, a Communications Specialist, Graphic Designer and Social Media Specialist with over 5 years of experience working across diverse sectors in the development space to achieve better life outcomes for marginalized and vulnerable communities. He is the Founder/CEO of WaterWide, a non-profit organisation that tracks government spending for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for improved access in rural communities. Prior founding WaterWide, he worked with the Connected Development (CODE)Data lead AfricaNigerian Young Professionals Forum (NYPF)Ducit Blue Solutions and the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR). Wilson is passionate about promoting transparency, accountability and citizens engagement in governance through capacity building on the Freedom of Information Act (FoI) as well through the use of technology to amplify issues.

Using his Advocacy, Graphics and Communications skills, he made major contributions to the political, economic and social development of Nigerians especially those in marginalised grassroots communities, He promotes transparency and accountability and citizens engagement in governance by building the capacities of citizens to use Freedom of Information Act to demand a transparent and accountable government and also to leverage on technology to amplify corruption cases, He was involved in several advocacy campaigns that led to policy changes in Nigeria (Marginal increase for health in 2018 budget, Not Too Young to Run, Disability Rights Law, Univeral Basic Education ACT, Child Rights Act amongst others)

He has a Diploma in Banking and Finance from the University of Jos and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Kwararafa University Wukari. He was selected as one of Accountability Lab’s Accountapreneurs for 2020.
